Training Adviser
A training adviser is responsible for supporting and assessing new Scout Leaders through their training up to the award of Wood Badge, in conjunction with the Local Scout District Training Manager (LTM). This is an important role with the Scout District as it enables new and existing Scout leaders to keep abreast of new issues covering the provision of adventurous training to young people.
This is achieved by:
- Briefing new leaders about the Adult Training Scheme.
- Help new leaders create a Personal Learning Plan
- Validating learning modules as completed by new leaders.
- Meet on a regular basis with each participant to encourage and review their Personal Learning Plan.
- Review and validate completed Personal Learning Plans and inform the LTM
- Maintain records and keep the LTM informed of a participant's progress.
- Meet with other Training Advisers to consider items of concern and issues; to be informed of new training opportunities and make plans for developing the support given to new leaders by Training Advisers.
